Tour Plan

Haridwar to Joshimath - The spiritual road starts

Your Badrinath tour starts early in the morning from Haridwar, where you will be received by our tour representative. After introducing and briefing you a bit, start the scenic drive for Joshimath, the point of departure for reaching Badrinath. Along the way, you will drive through the confluences of Devprayag, where the rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda unite to become the Ganga, and Rudraprayag, where the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers meet.

The journey also passes through Srinagar, a picturesque town along the Alaknanda, and Karnaprayag, another significant confluence in the Panch Prayag sequence. You get to see the panoramic scenery of the Himalayas, waterfalls, and villages of Garhwali people on the way. Arrive in Joshimath, a peaceful hill station and site of one of the four maths established by Adi Shankaracharya, in the evening. Check into your hotel and relax after dinner.

Joshimath to Badrinath - Temple darshan and divine experiences

Breakfast in the early morning and then head to Badrinath, which is only 45 km away from Joshimath. The drive is a breathtaking view of snow-covered mountains, serpentine roads, and the roaring Alaknanda River. After arrival at Badrinath, go directly to the Tapt Kund, a natural hot water spring where pilgrims have a purifying bath before seeking blessings at the temple. After the bath, visit the darshan of the Badrinath Temple, which is of Lord Vishnu in Badrinarayan's disguise. The temple architecture is colorful and peculiar, and the spiritual atmosphere is also enhanced by the recitations of priests and devotees.

In the afternoon, visit the Mana Village. This town is so famous because it’s the last Indian village close to the Tibet-China border. Here you should visit Vyas Gufa, where it is believed that sage Vyas wrote the Mahabharata, and Ganesh Gufa, where Lord Ganesha was his scribe. A short walk further is Bhimpul, a natural rock bridge that is said to have been put there by Bhim for Draupadi during the last walk of the Pandavas. The Saraswati River, after coming out from a cave and joining Alaknanda, can be seen here too.

Badrinath to Rudraprayag - Downhill with devotion

Wake up early to visit the temple once again for a quick morning darshan or spend peaceful hours along the riverbanks of Alaknanda. Breakfast is followed by the return drive to Rudraprayag, a town of high religious value situated at the juncture of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers.

En route, have your lunch at one of the local eateries, and enjoy the natural scenery as you come down from the lofty Himalayas. In the evening, visit Rudraprayag and check in at your hotel. If time allows, you can also visit the Rudranath Temple, this is a temple of Lord Shiva. Relax in this serene town with rivers and mountains all around. Dinner at the hotel.
