On reaching Dehradun, meet our official at Airport / Railway station. Start your way up through the verdant valleys and pine-clad slopes to Mussoorie, in the 1st week of winter itself. Just reach your hotel, and start off with an excited stroll at Mall Road. Go to Doone valley, watch Himalayan peaks sunset view, and visit gun hill by ropeway. Also hit the local coffee shops for a cup of hot chocolate or momos and rest at your hotel enjoying the evening leisure.
Post-breakfast, go to Kempty Falls where water streams down into an artificial pool from a clifftop, making it one of the best places for clicking pictures. Come and head to Company Garden, you can see beautiful seasonal flowers. Stroll down Camel's Back Road, this picturesque road is named after a rock formation that looks like a camel. Later visit Christ Church, one of the oldest churches in the Himalayas and evening at leisure or free time on Mall Road.
Later checkout after breakfast and proceed to Rishikesh, the yoga capital of India. Check in to the hotel and post lunch fresh up. Feel the serenity of river crossing Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula. Visit the nearby bazaar for local handicrafts and spiritual items. Attend Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat in the evening, you will not forget the sight of hundreds of lamps floating on the river. In the evening enjoy dinner and go back to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast drive to Haridwar which is considered one of the seven holiest places according to Hindu mythology. This is another extremely famous Ghat where all of the pilgrimages come to take a holy dip. Visit Mansa Devi Temple and Bharat Mata Mandir that both hold an interesting history behind them and watch the daily rituals performed by locals on the ghats. In the evening, there is another mesmerizing Ganga Aarti that takes place which again in Haridwar is more elaborate and grand with echo of chants across the river.
After breakfast, start driving towards Almora, which is the cultural heart of Kumaon Valley. After arriving, you will check in at the hotel and take a break. Go for a leisurely stroll in the evening down Almora's heritage bazaar, with its old wooden houses, stone-paved lanes and sweet shops selling Bal Mithai which evokes a warm, nostalgic feeling. Overnight stay in Almora.
Begin your day by visiting the 800 year old Nanda Devi Temple at the top of a hill. Chitai Golu Devta Temple is one more big temple in the Chitai Temple called Golu Devta temple, which is dedicated to “Gods of Justice”. If you have time, visit the Govind Ballabh Pant Museum which is a place to learn about the culture and history of the Kumaoni people. And then, start your journey back to your destination ahead, with memories of hills, heritage and the Uttarakhandi spirit.
