Arrival in Delhi – Welcome to the Capital

 

Arrive Indira Gandhi International Airport and be greeted by a representative of Chetram Holidays and transferred to your hotel.

At check-in and rest, embark on an orientation tour of Delhi. See India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's House), and conclude a serene evening at Lotus Temple or Qutub Minar, both being UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Delhi sightseeing – A Harmony of Ages

 

Breakfast at hotel and then proceed for a day-long sightseeing of Old and New Delhi.

Begin your tour in Old Delhi, where you see India's biggest mosque, the Jama Masjid, and ride a rickshaw along the crowded Chandni Chowk. Next, visit the Red Fort and Raj Ghat, Gandhi Memorial.

Morning, drive to Agra (approx. 4 hours) on Yamuna Expressway. Arrive and check-in hotel and rest.

Afternoon visit to the awe-inspiringly stunning Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage property, and discover the Mughal emperors who resided there. After that, visit Mehtab Bagh to view a fantastic sight of the Taj Mahal on the opposite bank of the Yamuna River.

Jaipur – Majestic Monuments

 

Wake up early to make an early morning tour to Taj Mahal when sun falls upon the marble surface, the ghost's eye. Then go back to your hotel for breakfast.

Next travel to Jaipur (about 5 hours) and make a stop halfway at Fatehpur Sikri, old Mughal capital, renowned for its wondrous buildings and sacred Salim Chishti Tomb.

On reaching Jaipur, relax at your hotel. In the evening, you have an optional Rajasthani folk dinner and cultural show, where you can enjoy traditional dishes such as dal baati churma and gatte ki sabzi.

Jaipur Sightseeing – Royal Capital of Rajasthan

 

Breakfast, then set out for a day's sightseeing in Jaipur, the Pink City.

Visit the Amber Fort, one of the finest forts of Rajasthan. You can choose to go up to its gates on an elephant or jeep and then venture into its opulent interiors, like the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors).

Then stroll through the City Palace, which is still owned by Jaipur's royal family, and see the Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory whose ancient instruments still deliver quite accurate predictions. Take a photo stop at the Hawa Mahal, the eccentric five-story palace constructed for royal women to observe street festivities.

Browse Jaipur's vibrant bazaars afterwards for local handicrafts, clothes, and jewellery.

Jodhpur – The Blue City

 

Drive to Jodhpur today (around 6 hours), or the Blue City as it is so full of blue-painted houses. Arrive and check in. Explore great Mehrangarh Fort this afternoon, dominating the city. Stroll through its palaces, museums, and courtyards, each shedding light on Rajasthan's imperial past. Afterwards visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace, a heritage hotel and luxury museum offering the splendor of Rajasthan's imperial past.

Evening, stroll through vibrant Sardar Market for some spice, cloth, and craft shopping.

Udaipur – Jodhpur

 

Breakfast, then drive to Udaipur via rural countryside (about 5 hours). Arrive and check-in to hotel, then begin to explore Udaipur, affectionately referred to as one of India's most romantic cities. Go for a boat ride to Lake Pichola and see the City Palace, the massive complex against the glinting lake. Visit the stunning Jag Mandir and serene Saheliyon Ki Bari (Maidens' Garden). See the stunning sunset view in the evening at the Ambrai Ghat near Lake Pichola. Have farewell dinner in the evening, relishing local Rajasthani food such as ker sangri and laal maas.
