Tour Plan

Start your royal trail in Jaipur, the Pink City

Your adventure begins in Jaipur, a historic city renowned for having royal palaces and pink sandstone roads. From your home, hotel, or point of pick-up as you choose, when you meet your guide or driver, you are already amidst the dynamic culture of Jaipur. Begin your discovery by walking along the old bazaars such as Bapu Bazaar and Johari Bazaar. The roads are flanked with vibrant textiles, jewelry stores, and Rajasthani trinkets that attest to the tradition of craftsmanship in the city. Street foods such as samosas, mirchi vadas, and sweet lassi may also be savored along the way.

Visit Hawa Mahal, the stunning Palace of Winds, in the late part of the day. Its distinctive facade, consisting of 953 small windows, was constructed such that the royal women could gaze out at street life. Although you will not be going to the palace today, its light building makes it ideal for early snaps. Dine in the evening at your city's rooftop restaurant or your hotel. This quiet evening allows you to soak in the ambiance and look forward to the great odyssey in store. Stay overnight at your hotel in Jaipur.

Visit the magnificent forts and historic palaces of Jaipur

Post-breakfast at your hotel, day 2 of the Jaipur tour is devoted to Amer Fort. This magnificent fort on a hilltop just outside the city was the former capital of the Kachwaha rulers. The Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam, and the beautiful courtyards of the fort are examples of traditional Rajput architecture and artistic skill. Jeep excursions to the fort gate or a short trek to the fort are on offer. Descending from Amer, visit Jal Mahal, an exquisite palace that seems to float in the center of Man Sagar Lake. Although not accessible for public entry inside, the roadside view is stunning, especially with the Aravalli hills in the background.

Return to the city to see the stunning City Palace. This part-still-occupied palace of the ruling family is a repository of museum costumes, arms, and portraits. Jantar Mantar, the largest stone observatory in the world, is situated next door, its 18th-century astronomical instruments still functional. You can visit the Albert Hall Museum in the evening or sit in a traditional café. Back to your hotel in the evening, with Jaipur's regal ambiance now ingrained deep in your experience. Overnight in Jaipur.

Scenic road journey to Udaipur, the City of Lakes

After an early breakfast and departure from your hotel, the drive to Udaipur starts. The trip is over the varied landscape of Rajasthan rolling hills, villages in the countryside, and tracts of country where camels and peacocks may be seen roaming around freely. The trip to Udaipur, though approximately 6-7 hours, is filled with beautiful landscapes and soothing halts. In the evening, you arrive in Udaipur, called the Venice of the East. Following check-in at your hotel and relaxation, go in the evening to Lake Pichola for a magical boat ride. As your boat cruises over the lake waters, delight in the Lake Palace and Jag Mandir, which stand like marble pearls upon the lake waters.

The hills surrounding Aravalli are mirrored in the lake at sunset, making it a vision to behold. Pass your evening along the lakeside walkway or enjoy a rooftop restaurant dining experience. The serenity of the surroundings of Udaipur offers a refreshing contrast to the royal din of Jaipur. Stay overnight in Udaipur.

Sightseeing in Udaipur and drive to Jodhpur

The day starts with a healthy breakfast, and then there is a trip to the city of Udaipur. Begin at the grand City Palace, a huge complex sprawling over Lake Pichola. It contains antique pieces of furniture, portraits of royal people, mirrored corridors, and panoramic balconies that were formerly used to extend invitations to Mewar monarchs. Then, go to Jagdish Temple, a holy place that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and famous for its intricate carvings and vibrant rituals. Move on to Saheliyon Ki Bari, an old garden that was created for the women of the royal household. Fountains, lotus pools, and marble kiosks provide a cool retreat. By early afternoon, you have checked out of your hotel and begun the road drive to Jodhpur.

The 5-hour journey brings you further into Rajasthan's desert terrain, where the cities slowly make way for arid tracts of dry beauty. As you reach Jodhpur, you notice its famous blue-painted buildings and the looming fort above it. Arrive in Jodhpur in the evening and check into a hotel. If time allows, take an hour's walk around the Clock Tower or the Sardar Market, which is famous for spices and antiques. Overnight in Jodhpur.

Explore Jodhpur's royal grandeur and return to Jaipur

After breakfast, your last day begins with a visit to the stunning Mehrangarh Fort. Standing dramatically over the city, the fort is one of India's most well-preserved forts. Explore its large courtyards, museum rooms, and walls that provide awe-inspiring views of the blue city below. Every part of it has tales to tell about valiant kings, royal ceremonies, and battles fought.

Jaswant Thada, a white marble cenotaph surrounded by gardens and a small lake, is near the outskirts of the fort. Constructed in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the structure shines in the sunlight and is a serene spot for contemplation. Then proceed to Umaid Bhawan Palace, a strange blend of royal and modern architecture. Part of it is used in a luxury hotel, and the museum portion has ancient clocks, royal attire, and vintage photographs exhibited.

Once done with your Jodhpur tour, start driving back to Jaipur. The return journey takes around 5-6 hours and gives you a final glimpse of Rajasthan's countryside. Reach Jaipur in the evening, and complete your royal tour of the most famous cities of Rajasthan each with its shade of the imperial desert kingdom.
