Post breakfast, drive to Amber Fort that sits atop a hill. Take a jeep or elephant ride up to see its halls of mirrors, painted ceilings, and kingly courts. Then go to the affluent City Palace, a continuous palace of the king and queen, and Jantar Mantar, a medieval astronomical observatory that still tracks celestial movement. Take pictures at Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds.

You will visit the twin cities of the Kathmandu Valley today: Patan and Bhaktapur. Patan is famous for its intricately worked temples and courtyards. Visit Patan Durbar Square, the Golden Temple, and traditional craftsman workshops. In Bhaktapur, stroll through Taumadhi Square, Nyatapola Temple, and Pottery Square. The city is a UNESCO Heritage Site with medieval ambiance and cultural architecture.
