One of the most beautiful and serene places of Rajasthan, Udaipur is the ideal place that the traveller of Aligarh can visit. Udaipur is the epitome of culture and nature: its blue lakes, green hills, old palaces, and traditional villages provide you with the most optimal balance between nature and culture. This 4 day trip not only covers the big attractions, but also some of the quiet, off-beat destinations that surround Udaipur and reveal to you the true beauty of Mewar. Chetram Holidays will help you enjoy your Udaipur tour packages from Aligarh without any hassles, as we will take care of all the tour arrangement plans, including your accommodation in the hotels and the tours you plan.
You drive away from Aligarh, to Udaipur and enter your hotel. Having taken a break, start your tour with the City Palace, the large representation of the Mewar heritage. When you pass through its immense gateways, extensive passageways, adorned halls and marble balconies, you get a very good feeling of the royal life of the kings that used to reside here. The palace is at a good view of the blue water and the far away hills with Lake Pichola. There are also stone-pillared courtyards, rooms of glasswork, ancient paintings, armour collections, and open terraces, all caught in by the cool breeze of the lake, all to be explored inside. Any tour of the palace should be followed by a leisurely stroll through the old lanes of the city visiting small shops which deal in handmade diaries, miniature paintings, silver ornaments and traditional Rajasthani crafts. Dine and go to bed at a rooftop cafe with the best views of the lake and come back to the hotel to sleep a good night.
Then, drive to Nagda, an old town situated on the borders of Udaipur after breakfast. The primary tourist attraction in this area is the Sahastra Bahu Temple which is also referred to as Saas-Bahu Temple. This temple was built in the 10th century and it is one of the best representatives of stone art in Rajasthan. The carvings on the walls, pillars, as well as the ceilings are very detailed depicting scenes of mythology, dances, and other normal life. The temple is in utter silence, with trees, hills, and a little lake nearby, and makes the place a most soothing influence. You may sit down by the courtyard, look at the carvings slowly, and have the cool country breeze. The ruins of ancient temples in Nagda are also scattered around and they provide a sense of the history and mystery. Spend sufficient time here and then go back to Udaipur and take a rest in your hotel. During the evening, you may go shopping at the colourful Hathipole Market.
Start your day in the early mornings and take a drive to Badi Lake, which is the most quiet natural location in Udaipur. The lake is a fresh and beautiful scene with all the hills surrounding it, particularly at sunrise. One can sit on the stone platform known as the "Badi Pal," see the sky reflected on the calm water, and experience the silence. The reason why many travellers adore Badi Lake is that it is free of the crowd and you have the space to relax, think or enjoy nature without being interrupted. You may take a stroll along the path along the lake, take pictures with the hills in the background, or just sit and have a morning breeze. Once you visit, go back to the city and have breakfast in a cafe there. Keep your afternoon free and go sightseeing or visiting minor tourist sites such as Gangaur Ghat or Vintage car museum. Relax and have a peaceful dinner in the evening in a hotel.
Drive to a scenic location, Rayta Village, a lovely rural location, on your last day and it is situated in Aravalli hills. The motivation itself is an adventure, going through the high trees, the wavy roads, and the broad open valleys. Rayta is characterized by its pristine beauty in terms of green farmlands, small mud houses, and local communities. You have an opportunity to walk in the village lanes, to communicate with village people, to see traditional agriculture and to taste pure village air. Rayta has a beautiful view with close to deep valleys and some hills which form the landscape and it is a good place to capture images and to do short walks through nature. According to many travellers, Rayta provides an introduction to the "real Rajasthan" not in overcrowded tourism destinations. Having spent a plain, but pleasant, day here, you now get back to Udaipur to take the luggage. Then take a train or a flight to start with your journey of returning to Aligarh and as your miniature yet memorable Udaipur tour draws to a close.
