bUpon entering Udaipur, you begin your tour visiting Ahar Cenotaphs, an ancient royal cremation place, which is in a small peaceful spot in the city of Udaipur. It is the location of dozens of cenotaphs that are designed in the shape of domes constructed of white stone which provides the place with a historic and peaceful atmosphere. You can feel your connection to the past of Udaipur as you pass through the arches and sculpted pillars that cannot be provided in the crowded tourist spots. Then you retire to your hotel later on, sleep and take a light evening stroll by the lakeside.
The second day is devoted to the more obscure hidden ghats of Udaipur where local life is easily found. You visit Gangaur Ghat, Nav Ghat and the less crowded Ambrai back lanes. Have early breakfast and then travel to Pushkar, a sacred town that is enclosed by hills. Upon arrival, see Pushkar Lake, which is famous and walk around the ghats. Pay a visit to the Brahma Temple that is one of the few temples in the world that is dedicated to Lord Brahma. Wake up and after having your breakfast visit Kailashpuri, the place with the gorgeous complex of Shri Eklingji temple. Even the old stone passages, the silver doors and the carved pillars make the place have a strong spiritual touch. A little further forward drive will lead you to Nagda Temple Ruins which is one of the most underestimated historical sites in Udaipur. A lot of the houses are demolished but the modulations on the walls left are remarkable. It is an idyllic setting with a small lake and hills encircling the place, which makes it look like it is forgotten that it exists. It is an ideal composition of history and nature.
Following the breakfast, visit Kumbhalgarh that has gigantic fort walls spanning 36 kilometers. See the fort, its temples, and the views of the panorama of the top. The history of the fort and the landscape around it give one a distinct experience. Evening after sightseeing at Kumbhalgarh, go back to Udaipur.
During the last day, have a leisurely breakfast and use the rest of the time to shop in the local markets such as Hathipole and Clock tower market. Textiles, jewellery and handicrafts are available as souvenirs. After lunch you need to leave your hotel and take the road to head back to Nashik.
