Tour Plan

Arrival in Udaipur

Board a plane in Pune to Udaipur and have dinner in your hotel. Upon arrival and refreshing, you can start by paying a visit to the Fateh Sagar Lake that is a tranquil lake with beautiful walking paths and water scenery. Take part in some local snacks in one of the cafes overlooking the lake. Next move on to the City Palace, a massive palace in Rajasthan, which has fantastic courtyards, balconies, royal rooms and museum holdings. Having heard about the Mewar dynasty, come to Ambrai Ghat to experience a tranquil sunset when the palace is beautifully reflected on the water surface. Go back to your hotel, have dinner and go to sleep.

Explore Kumbhalgarh

Wake up early and have your breakfast and then drive to Kumbhalgarh which is a picturesque two hour drive accompanied by the Aravalli hills. Explore the great Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO world heritage site due to its huge boundary wall that runs across 36 km, explore the old temples, Birth place of Maharana Pratap and the viewpoints within the fort. You can also take time and meander through the fortified walls and enjoy impressive scenery of forests and mountains. There is a village tea stall located on your route home where you can take a bite to watch how the rural people live. Go back to Udaipur in the evening, dine and sleep.

Tour Jaisamand Lake and Tribal Belt.

Start your day with breakfast and drive to Jaisamand Lake which is the second-largest artificial lake in Asia. Go to Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary, a quiet area that boasts of spotted deer, migratory birds and jungle trails. Ride a short boat ride to Jaisamand Island to have a panoramic view of the lake. Following this, visit the tribal villages of Bhil and Garasia which are close to the city and you can see their traditional houses, ancient traditions, their local art and their modes of agriculture. Have a dhaba lunch by the lake-side and go back to Udaipur. Spend your evening walking in Chetak Circle Market where there are crafts and snacks.

Tourist Attractions in Delwara and Shilpgram.

Rise and take your breakfast and then go to a quaint village called Delwara which is referred to as the Town of Godly Mansions. Explore the Jain temples, old havelis, fresco-filled lanes and stepwells of this village that makes it seem like an open air heritage museum. Going through the local craft stores and visiting the Sadhna Women Organisation where rural women make wonderfully handwoven clothes and accessories is a good way to spend some time. Following Lunch, tour Shilpgram, the village artisans and crafts complex, where the artisans demonstrate pottery, weaving, puppetry, folk dance and traditional paintings. Meet craftsmen, watch cultural shows, and buy handmade souvenirs. In the evening go back to Udaipur.

Explore Alsigarh Valley and Menar.

Wake up early in the morning and visit Menar where there is a bird village as thousands of migratory birds come here every winter. Take a stroll around the lakeside and observe flamingos, painted storks, pelicans and herons. Meet the locals that take care of these birds and have tea in a small village shop. Then, proceed to the more scenic and less famous Alsigarh Valley which is surrounded by green mountains, clear streams (during monsoon), and calm farmlands. It is also among the most eccentric spots of Udaipur. Explore the valley, have nature walks, watch the terraced fields and sample the village meals prepared at home. Come back to your hotel in the evening.
